To make the door header the top of the door frame cut two 2x4s to the same length as the width of the original opening and nail them securely together.
Assemble the screen insert frames using glue and brads at the corners.
Cut a piece of screen 2 inches larger all around than the insert.
Dry fit the screen door and use a hand planer if it s too tight.
